North West: Premier Mahumapelo congratulates Chief Justice Mogoeng on his election as CCJA President

Premier Supra Mahumapelo of Bokone Bophirima Province has sent his congratulatory message to Chief Justice Mogoeng Mogoeng following his election as the President of the Conference of the Constitutional Jurisdictions of Africa (CCJA).

Mogoeng was elected on Wednesday, 26 April at a congress attended by dignitaries from more than 30 African countries. The congress was held in Cape Town.  

Passing on his warm wishes to Chief Justice Mogoeng Mogoeng, Premier Mahumapelo said he has no doubt Mogoeng will be equal to the mammoth task of leading the continental judiciary.

“We are proud as the province of Bokone Bophirima where Chief Justice Mogoeng Mogoeng was born, that the continent has expressed its confidence and firm believe in him, which has been demonstrated through his election as the previous Vice President and now the CCJA President. We are certain that he will for the next two years as President of the Conference of the Constitutional Jurisdictions of Africa, serve with utmost loyalty, integrity and dedication”, said Premier Mahumapelo.

The theme for this year’s Conference of the Constitutional Jurisdictions of Africa was “Strengthening the independence of the judiciary and respect for the rule of law”.
