Minister Zweli Mkhize to deliver a keynote address at the 13th National Municipal Managers Forum

The Minister for Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs, Dr Zweli Mkhize will deliver a keynote address at the 13th National Municipal Managers Forum organised under the auspices of the South African Local Government Association (SALGA) on Monday 12 November 2018.

The value of the Forum is not only the effective way in which it rallies Municipal Managers around common issues but also the opportunities provided to learn from one another.  Since its establishment in 2011, the forum has played an important role to ensuring effective and efficient functioning of local government.

The 13th National Municipal Managers Forum is taking place at an opportune as Minister Mkhize is spearheading a national Municipal Recovery Programme aimed at turning dysfunctional and distressed municipalities around. The 13th Forum will for the first time enable the minister to engage accounting officers who are at the coalface and are an integral part of the efforts to ensure that municipalities function effectively and efficiently delivering services to communities as expected.

The 13th National Municipal Managers Forum will amongst others discuss policy agenda of local government and matters affecting Municipal Managers, and also make improvements to the Municipal Managers Forum platform.
