Minister Pandor to speak at the Forestry Research Symposium in Durban

The Minister of Science and Technology, Naledi Pandor, will deliver the keynote address at the Forestry Research Symposium at the International Convention Centre in Durban

To be held under the theme "Underpinning Sustainable Tree Plantations in South Africa", the Forestry Research Symposium is a one-day research-focused event hosted by the Institute for Commercial Forestry Research.

It is aimed at showcasing the breadth and depth of forestry research across the country and its role in supporting innovation, policy, decision-making and skills development.

The Symposium forms part of pre-XIV World Forestry Congress, to be held from 7 to 11 September 2015.

Minister Naledi Pandor's keynote speech will focus on science and technology policy in support of the forest research sector.
