Girls from previously disadvantaged schools in and around the Sedibeng and Metsimaholo regions will have their chances of succeeding in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) significantly boosted through a seminar.

The Vaal University of Technology will host the seminar at its Vanderbiljpark Campus on 15 August 2017.

The objective of the seminar is to create a platform for women who have excelled in STEM-related careers to interact and serve as role models for young girls and women, who are still at school and university.

The Minister of Science and Technology, Naledi Pandor, will deliver the keynote address.
