Minister Nathi Mthethwa announces the final artist line-up for Cape Town International Jazz Festival, 27 Jan

 Arts and Culture Minister, Mr Nathi Mthethwa invites members of the media to a press conference to announce the 2015 final Artists line-up and programme for the 6th of the Cape Town International Jazz Festival (CTIJF). The press conference will be held on Tuesday, 27 January 2015 at Katzy’s (@ the Grillhouse in Rosebank,  Johannesburg.

The CTIJF is one of the flagship projects supported through the Mzansi Golden Economy (MGE) programme of the Department of Arts and Culture. The MGE programme seeks to radically transform the arts and heritage sector as a driving force towards market and economic development, audience building and job creation.

The Department of Arts and Culture is proud to be the leading sponsor and supporter of the festival for more than a decade. The Department annually supports more than 20 festivals in all provinces; these range from small to large scale festivals such as Pulo ya Meropa in Limpopo, Kalahari Dessert Festival in the Northern Cape, MACUFE in the Free State, Mpumalanga Comes Alive Festival as well as Buyel’ekhaya in Eastern Cape. Festivals remain a catalyst for promoting nation building and social cohesion.
