Minister Naledi Pandor tables the Department of Science and Technology Budget Vote

The Minister of Science and Technology, Naledi Pandor, will table the Department of Science and Technology's 2014/15 Budget Vote in Room E 249, New Wing,  Parliament on Tuesday, 22 July 2014, at 10h00, to highlight the Department's key focus areas for the financial year.

At 08h30, Minister Naledi Pandor together with Deputy Minister Zanele KaMagwaza-Msibi will do a walkabout and interact with the exhibitors at Cape Centre for the Book, 62 Queen Victoria Street, Cape Town.

The Budget Vote will be followed by a presentation on the status of innovation in South Africa by the CEO of the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research, Dr Sibusiso Sibisi.  This will be held at the Cape Town Centre for the Book, during lunch from 12:30 to 13:30.

In its quest to demystify science, technology and innovation, the Department of Science and Technology, working with entities reporting to it, will mount an impressive exhibition, titled “science at work", at the Centre for the Book.  Through the exhibition, the department also hopes to highlight the importance of science and technology in society.

Both members of the public and media are invited to the exhibitions.
