Minister Bathabile Dlamini to hold a dialogue with women traditional leaders in KwaMhlanga, Mpumalanga

The Minister in the Presidency Responsible for Women, Minister Bathabile Dlamini will hold a dialogue with women traditional leaders in Kwa Mhlanga, Mpumalanga on 28 November 2018.  The dialogue is part of a series of engagements the Minister is conducting with various stakeholders during the 16 Days of Activism Against Violence on Women and Children campaign period.

The 2018 16 Days of Activism campaign, under the theme “HearMeToo: End Violence against Women and Children”, is a drive that challenges the nation to make strides towards a violence-free society.  It highlights the collective social responsibility towards eliminating all forms of Gender-Based Violence.

The dialogue with women traditional leaders is a platform for gender transformation in the former Homelands and traditional areas. Women traditional leaders will be provided the opportunity to discuss their challenges with customary laws and practices. As part of the programme for the day, they will also interact with national and provincial government structures on developmental opportunities for women’s emancipation and gender equality in traditional areas. The dialogue will take place as follows:
