MEC TAU TO LAUNCH GAUTENG PROVINCE’S LOCAL CONTENT FRAMEWORK

13th March 2022

The MEC for Economic Development, Environment, Agriculture and Rural Development, Parks Tau will launch the Department of Economic Development led Local Content Framework on 14th March 2022 at the BUY LOCAL SUMMIT in Sandton, Johannesburg.

The Local Content Framework has been developed using the existing, strategies, policies, budgets, and institutions, national and provincial. The Growing Gauteng Together (GGT) 2030 guided the process of setting targets that need to be achieved by 2030. The process of achieving the set targets emanate from key government policies, budgets, and institutions. The Industrial Policy Action Plan (IPAP) provided the approach that needs to be followed in growing the economy, where key sectors of Gauteng province are targeted using the strength of the budget expenditure by public institutions on those sectors.

The Gauteng Provincial Government plans to start the implementation of the GPG B-BBEE and Local Content and Production Framework in the next financial year (2022/23FY).

The Proudly SA Buy Local Summit takes place as follows;

Date: 14 - 16 March 2022
