MEC Seaparo Sekoati leads delegation to Namibia

22nd February 2018

The Limpopo Provincial Government led by MEC Seaparo Sekoati representing Premier Chupu Stanley Mathabatha, will visit the Republic of Namibia on the 28th February to 2nd March 2018 to strengthen established trade relations and cultural ties.

The Republic of South Africa and Namibia share historical, geographical, cultural and fraternal bonds. The Province has been participating in the Ongwediva Trade Fair in the Republic of Namibia since 2006, while delegates from the four regions (Ohangwena, Oshana, Oshikoto and Omusati) of Namibia have also been participating in the annual Marula Festival.

The rationale behind the undertaking is to conclude and officially sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with four Namibian regions. This envisaged momentous occurrence is preceded by prior engagements with governors of the afore mentioned regions on issues pertaining to strengthening and consolidation of relations in economic integration, social, agriculture, cultural, environmental and wildlife management.

MEC for the Department of Limpopo Economic Development, Environment and Tourism (LEDET) Seaparo Sekoati, will also act on behalf of the Department of Agriculture. He will be accompanied by MEC for the Department of Sports, Arts and Culture, Onnica Moloi as well as support staff from respective departments.
