The Gauteng MEC for Community Safety, Sizakele Nkosi-Malobane, has raised a concern following the brutal killing of two girls who found dead in Tokoza, Ekurhuleni on Tuesday.
 
The two victims were last seen on Sunday, 13th May 2018, at about 16:30. On Tuesday, this week, the remains of two young girls, Nompumelelo Manono (8) Nonkululeko Xaba (9), were found in an open field behind Maphanzela Primary School in Tokoza. One of the victims was wrapped in a duvet and while the one was bundled inside a bag with bruises on their faces.
 
The incident comes in the wake of the death of a 10-year-old Katlego Joja who went missing and her body was found floating in the Moretele River in Mamelodi, Pretoria.
 
"I appeal to community members to rally behind the police to ensure that the perpetrator/s are arrested, face the might of the law and our courts give them the harshest sentence possible. Whilst everyone was celebrating Mother’s Day on Sunday, I cannot imagine the pain and trauma that the mothers of the two children suffered as their children went missing on that day. The community has been robbed of these beautiful offsprings by callous and heartless criminals who do not deserve to leave in our society.
 
We should not fold our arms and allow these criminals to continue to commit such atrocious and barbaric acts against our women and children. Collectively we must fight tooth and nail to root out this inhumane behavior in our society. Women and children’s rights are Human Rights. My heartfelt condolences to the two families, learners and their friends during these trying times," said Gauteng MEC for Community Safety, Sizakele Nkosi-Malobane.
