Mayor Mashaba to launch final phase of electrification of Kliptown Ext 11

Tomorrow, Executive Mayor, Cllr Herman Mashaba, will launch the final phase of the electrification of the oldest black residential district in Soweto, Kliptown Extension 11, during a ground-breaking ceremony.

At a cost of R5 million, City Power will electrify the 200 homes that are currently being built by the City as part of the final phase of development in Kliptown Extension 11.

The launch of the final phase of this development also coincides with Mayor Mashaba’s one year inauguration, and signifies the delivery on a promise made to the residents of Kliptown during his campaign.

The Executive Mayor will be joined by MMC for Environment and Infrastructure Service Delivery, Cllr Nico de Jager, and MMC for Housing Cllr Mzobanzi Ntuli.
