Limpopo Executive Council holds Imbizo with Mohodi Community

10th May 2018

The Limpopo Provincial Government Executive Council (EXCO) is scheduled to meet the communities of Mohodi Village, Molemole Municipality in the Capricorn District. The EXCO Imbizo is designed to strengthen communication between the Provincial Government and the people.

The Premier of Limpopo, Mr Chupu Stanley Mathabatha will lead Members of the Executive Council (MECs) to meet the people of Mohodi and the surrounding villages as part of the monthly government outreach programme. The EXCO Imbizo Programme ensures that the voice of the people are made a priority, as the programme  has been tailored in a way that people voice concerns and the government listens in order to give constructive feedback on issues affecting the community.

The Provincial Communication Services conducted a research in Wards 11, 12 and 13 of Molemole Municipality in preparation for the EXCO Imbizo. The research focuses on service delivery challenges confronting the residents of Mohodi Village within the jurisdiction of Kgoshi Mankwe Manthata and Kgoshi Ngoako Malebogo.

The main concerns found were in the following departments; education (shortage of school furniture), health (facilities such as stand-by-generator, BP, autoclave, sterilising packs are needed), roads and infrastructure (the completion of the road linking Mogwadi and Botlokwa) and safety (rethinking police boundaries due to villages being far from police stations). Those are some of the preliminary findings and other issues will be presented by various stakeholders. Various MECs will address issues raised that affect their portfolio.
