 KwaZulu-Natal holds memorial service for Madikizela-Mandela

The African National Congress (ANC) in KwaZulu-Natal will on Thursday hold a memorial service for the late Winnie Madikizela-Mandela ahead of her special funeral this week.

The party's provincial interim committee coordinator Sihle Zikalala urged the public to attend the memorial service scheduled to start at 3pm at Durban's Moses Mabhida Stadium. 

The provincial ANC Women's League (ANCWL) will early Thursday launch the 'Molo Makhelwane' campaign in KwaMashu township’s at 9am in honour of the late struggle icon.

Molo Makhelwane, loosely translated 'into 'hello neighbour'', is an ANCWL initiative to promote community goodwill and social cohesion.

ANC Deputy President David Mabuza will deliver the keynote address. Mabuza addressed mourners at the special memorial service held at Soweto's Orlando Stadium on Wednesday. 

The anti-apartheid activist and former wife of the late president Nelson Mandela, died at the Milpark Hospital in Johannesburg on April 2. She was 81.
