KwaZulu-Natal Cooperative Governance awards Municipalities for excellent management of public funds, 23 Jan

The Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs in KwaZulu-Natal (KZN), in the company of the Auditor-General Kimi Makwethu, will tomorrow hand over awards to municipalities and entities that have obtained a clean bill of health from the Auditor General in the 2013/14 financial year.

The rationale behind this ceremony is to motivate local government in KZN, to be unceasingly synonymous with clean audit outcomes.

MEC Dube-Ncube and the Auditor-General  are expected to address municipalities  on the critical subject of irregular expenditure as well as other factors contributing to poor audit outcomes at local government level.
