IFP: Nhlanhla Msimango on the passing of Phillip Hughes

The IFP in KwaZulu-Natal has conveyed its sincere condolences to the family,
friends and international sporting fraternity on the passing of Australian
cricketer, Phillip Hughes who passed away today after suffering a head injury
during a cricket match.

"The word tragedy gets used too often in sport, but this freak accident is a
real life tragedy. For a young life to be cut short playing his national game
seems a shocking aberration. He was loved, admired and respected by his
team-mates and by legions of cricket fans," said IFP Spokesperson on Sports, Mr
Nhlanhla Msimango, MPL.

"Australia has lost one of its young stars and we as South Africans we are
deeply touched because our cricket team has always respected the immense talent
of Australian cricketers," concluded Mr Msimango.
