The IFP in KwaZulu-Natal calls on the MEC of Human Settlements, Mr Ravi Pillay
to face the reality and prioritise adequate sanitation for the citizens of
KwaZulu-Natal. The party said this in a statement as we marked the World's
Toilet Day yesterday.

IFP Spokesperson on Human Settlements, Joshua Mazibuko said: "As we marked the
World's Toilet Day, we are mindful that multitudes of KwaZulu-Natal citizens are
still longing for the day when they will have access to decent toilets and
sanitation.

It is very unfortunate that the government has dismally failed to meet these
basic necessities despite twenty years of promises. We therefore call on the
Human Settlements MEC, Mr Ravi Pillay, to prioritise the eradication of the
bucket system and provision of sanitation.

"There can be no true freedom as long as our people across the length and
breadth of the Province suffer the indignities of the bucket system and lack of
proper sanitation."
