IFP: Statement by Blessed Gwala, Inkatha Freedom Party Leader in the KZN Legislature, on KZN Premier must heed His Majesty the King's call to stop abuse of public funds (01/10/2014)

The IFP in KwaZulu-Natal calls on the KZN Premier and his Executive to heed
the call made by His Majesty, King Goodwill Zwelethini, to review community
outreach programmes which waste public funds.

"Over the past weeks the IFP has noted the co-ordinated effort of several
provincial departments spending millions of Rands to assist ANC's
by-election campaigns in Mthonjaneni. This is public money, intended for
delivery of critical services, and not for campaigning. The IFP will not
permit this to continue without it being exposed and challenged," said IFP
Leader in the KZN Legislature, Mr Blessed Gwala, MPL.

"This is similar to the "Taking Parliament to the People" jamborees that are
obvious distractions that do not provide any sensible or sustainable
solutions to the problems that our people are facing on a daily basis. These
are just ceremonial visits that do not create jobs or improve the lives of
the locals. The plight of the poor will not be alleviated with one solitary
meal and a T-shirt courtesy of Parliament," continued Mr Gwala.

"We call on all men and women of integrity throughout South Africa to reject
these political shenanigans by the ANC," concluded Mr Gwala.
