Tomorrow, 17 April 2014, DA Leader Helen Zille will lead a picket at the Hout Bay Harbour in Cape Town.

The DA led Western Cape Government has been trying to work co-operatively with national government for several years to properly develop and invest in small fishing harbours. The national department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, and other government departments, have doggedly blocked any progress, resulting in job losses in fishing communities, and the degradation of small fishing harbours.

This picket will highlight how if the DA managed small fishing harbours, we could invest in this important infrastructure to create jobs within this sector of our economy.

There will be opportunities for interviews and photographs.
