Another struggle stalwart and military veteran of the Luthuli Detachment of Umkhonto we Sizwe, the former military wing of the ANC, Mr Stabiso Simon Ndaba will be buried on 13th February 2016 at a ceremony to be held at the St Mungo’s United Church in Bryanston, Johannesburg from 09h00 -12h00.

The Department of Military Veterans expresses its shock and sadness at this loss of a man who served the struggle for liberation with distinction and would like to pass its sincere condolences to the members of the bereaved family.

Mr Ndaba left the country to join MK in 1963, he did his military training in the Peoples Republic of China 1963 he then proceeded to do further Military training in the then Soviet union. He returned to Tanzania join other Luthuli Detachment members such as the late Chris Hani, Hermanus Loots and, General Albert Moloi.

In 1967 he was deployed to Lusaka Zambia as part of internal operations unit under the Revolutionary Council. The unit’s task was to coordinate internal Military and Political operations of ANC and MK. Following the assassination of Joe Gqabi in Harare Zimbabwe in 1981 he was deployed to Zimbabwe to replace him as the Chief Representative in Zimbabwe.

In the late 1990s he became the head of transport of the ANC in Zambia, were he coordinated transportation of various leaders and cadres of the ANC and MK to various missions that were to be carried out home and abroad. Mr Ndaba return to the country together with his family following the unbanning of the ANC in South Africa.

He's living behind his wife and 3 daughters, Khanyisile Ndaba (Dr) Brig General Ndaba, Ntombi and Ntathu, 4 grand sons and a great grandchild.
