The event will showcase the provincial government’s new transparent Open Tender concept to various stakeholders, and demonstrate the capability of the system to enhance transparency in government, ensure good governance in procurement processes, and fight fraud and corruption in the public sector.

The seminar will be held under the theme: “Open Tender System as a mechanism to promote public accountability and citizen participation in government.”

Premier Makhura will be joined by, amongst others, MECs from Gauteng and other provinces, Ministers and more than 800 delegates, including international experts to share experiences with policy makers, suppliers, NGOs and private sector on transparency as a mechanism to restore public confidence in government, and fight fraud and corruption in public supply chain management processes.
