Gauteng hosts Inaugural Disability Rights Activism Public Lecture

As part of the National Disability Rights Awareness Month,  the Gauteng Provincial Government in partnership with the University of the Witwatersrand, will on Monday, 09 November 2015, host the Disability Rights Activism Public Lecture. The lecture, to be held under the theme: “Historical struggles for liberation and disability rights inspiring action for equality”, seeks to share insights on the formation of the disability rights movement in South Africa. The activists and allies will also share ideas on what could be done to sustain the struggle for equality.

Disability rights activist and former anti-apartheid activist and former Constitutional Court Judge, Albie Sachs, deliver a keynote address on the struggle for equality for people living with disabilities in the post-apartheid South Africa.
