Gauteng Government host Provincial Taxi Summit

The Gauteng Government, in partnership with the taxi industry leadership of the South African National Taxi Council (SANTACO GAUTENG) and the Gauteng National Taxi Alliance (GNTA), will host a two day Provincial Taxi Summit from 28-29 July 2016  at the St Georges Conference Centre.

The Taxi Summit is part of the commitments made by Gauteng Premier David Makhura at the recent Provincial Taxi Indaba which was aimed at discussing issues plaguing the industry.

The purpose of the Summit is to foster partnerships between the mini-bus industry and all level of government to work towards a safe, accessible, reliable, affordable provision of public transport services in the province.

It is envisaged that the Summit will discuss amongst others; programme of action towards the integration of the mini-bus taxi industry onto the Public Transport System as well as development of programmes aimed at fast-tracking the regulation of the industry.
