Free State: Free State recalls Turkey students following recent attempted coup in the country

The Free State Provincial Government has recalled the 52 students who were pursuing their studies in Turkey. The 52 left in May to pursue their studies in the areas of engineering, economics, management and psychology.

This brought the total number of students in Turkey to 89. Thirty seven (37) have been in the country, and are home for their summer holidays. The decision to recall the 52 follows the recent attempted coup in the country and the closure of universities.

The province will try secure placement for students in other universities as an alternative as we don't know when the political situation in turkey would reach normality.
