“President Zuma must do the honourable thing now and resign,” Dr. Pieter Groenewald, the FF Plus’ national chairperson, said following the Gauteng North High Court decision today, that the head of the national prosecuting authority (NPA) had acted irrationally by withdrawing the corruption and fraud charges against president Zuma in 2009.

“The FF Plus welcomes the decision of the High Court which decided to set aside the decision not to prosecute Zuma. This means that the NPA should now go ahead to prosecute Zuma for the 783 charges of corruption and fraud. This is now the third consecutive serious setback for president Zuma, starting with the Nene firing, the Constitutional Court decision against him and now this decision of the High Court. The NPA should accept the decision and abide it. A further appeal, in this case, will be a waste of taxpayer’s money,” Groenewald said.
