The power system is currently stable with no load shedding anticipated today.

Eskom has met the country’s electricity demand while operating its generation fleet in a sustainable manner for almost four months resulting in no load shedding during this period.

In summer, the system is tight all day up to 10pm. We urge our customers to collaborate with us to reduce demand on the power system by “living lightly”. Living lightly or saving electricity reduces pressure on the grid, cuts your electricity bill and reduces South Africa’s carbon emissions.

Eskom will continue to provide regular updates on the status of the power system through all the media platforms.
