There is currently no planned load shedding this evening as   Eskom has enough generating capacity to meet the demand. However, the power system is expected to be constrained during the evening peak period (5pm - 9pm), mainly due to increased electricity demand and generating units being out of service due to maintenance. Eskom will communicate in case there are changes.

Eskom calls on all customers to continue using electricity sparingly at all times to enable the technicians to carry out the requisite maintenance of our power generating units.

As the evening temperatures begin to drop, we urge electricity users to consider energy efficient ways of keeping warm.

Eskom will provide regular updates on the status of the power system through all the media platforms.
