Eskom: Eskom warns public not to fall victim to recruitment scam

Eskom wishes to warn the general public about a scam that is currently taking place in the Lephalale area in Limpopo.

The criminals’ modus operandi is to advertise jobs in the area and once a would-be applicant is called in for an interview a fee is solicited from them.

Eskom would like to state categorically that the company would never ask members of the public seeking employment to pay in order to be successfully recruited into Eskom. In addition all Eskom jobs are advertised on the Eskom website and job seekers are encouraged to verify all job adverts by visiting the Eskom website on https://secapps.eskom.co.za/sites/recruitment/Pages/home.aspx and searching under the recruitment page.

Members of the public must not fall victim to these scam artists and fraudsters. Anyone who comes across such practices or who is approached in this manner should contact Eskom’s toll free crime line on 0800 11 27 22 or email investigate@eskom.co.za to report the incident.
