The Minister of Energy, Ms Mmamoloko Kubayi notes and welcomes the release of the Competition Commission’s report on the market inquiry on competition in the Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) sector.  The report will serve as an input into the operational review that has been initiated by the Minister.

The Minister has directed the Department to conduct a detailed review of the issues raised as well as the recommendations of the Competition Commission.  NERSA’s views on the import infrastructure issues will also be sought. A meeting with the Minister of Economic Development will be scheduled as soon as the report is tabled in Parliament.
