DJCD: Justice and Constitutional Development hosts Access to Justice Week Campaign

The Department of Justice and Constitutional Development will provide free legal advice and heightened access to its services during Access to Justice Week which will run from 15 to 19 August 2016.

The initiative is undertaken annually during Women’s Month and specifically aims to provide access to justice for women throughout the country through the provision of workshops, legal advice and outreach campaigns.

Assistance with the drafting of wills, advice on the execution of deceased estates, as well as on domestic violence, maintenance and guardianship, are some of the topics that will be covered. A detailed schedule of events is attached.

As part of the week, the department will also host Justice Live Chat on social media as well as an hour-long phone-in programme, Let’s Talk Justice, on 65 community radio stations, aimed at creating further opportunities for the public to interact on service issues. Detailed information can be found on www.justice.gov.za (Schedule of Activities) and the departmental social media platforms.
