The Minister of Human Settlements, Lindiwe Sisulu is pleased that Mr Andy Sefotlhelo, a military veteran of Umkhonto We Sizwe has been discharged from hospital and also moved into his new house as committed by the Minister of Human Settlements during the Free State Military Veterans Summit held on November 23, 2017.

At the Summit, Minister highlighted the plight of Mr Sefothelo and called on the Free State province to fast track the delivery of houses to military veterans.

“I am very sad that Comrade Andy who sacrificed so much of his youth to deliver our freedom does not have a house. I want to promise you Comrade Andy and many of your comrades that we will solve this problem. This is my commitment”, said Sisulu at the Summit.

Mr Sefotlhelo was later admitted to the hospital and on his release yesterday he was delighted to move into his new home. The Minister has commended the Free State Government for speedy action and also call on the Province to clear the backlog of deserving military veterans without houses in the province.

“I am happy that the Free State Government has heeded our call to prioritise military veterans. I am also happy that the MEC Mrs Sisi Ntombela represented us, welcomed him and ensured that he is comfortable, we are a caring government”, Sisulu said.
