DEPUTY MINISTER MKHIZE COMMEMORATES HERITAGE MONTH WITH THE COMMUNITY OF KWANIBELA VILLAGE, HLUHLUWE

The Deputy Minister of Telecommunications and Postal Services, Prof. Hlengiwe Mkhize, will commence the heritage month commemorations at KwaNibela Village, uMkhanyakude District Municipality in northern Kwa-Zulu Natal Province.

The commemorations will be held for the purpose of promoting the preservation of South African heritage and culture, with the emphasis of using Information Communication Technologies to promote economic growth.

The event will be a platform for Government to educate the local leaders and the community on the use of technology in preserving our heritage and passing it on to the next generations.
It is anticipated that the event will be a platform to encourage the wide spread use of ICT tools to develop communities.

The KwaNibela Village was selected for the commemorations as it is popular for producing a high number of traditional dance groups in the area.  The Deputy Minister will be joined by the traditional leadership and local government leaders.
