Zuma lauds Dlamini-Zuma's alma mater as 'institution of presidents'

President Jacob Zuma asked a crowd gathered at Adams College yesterday whether the school, which has produced four ANC presidents, would make history once again.

ANC presidential candidate Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma is a former pupil at the school.

He was at the high school to officially open a block of 10 recently built classrooms.

Dlamini-Zuma is one of the front runners to succeed Zuma when his tenure as ANC president comes to an end in December.

Mugabe tells whites 'What's not yours will never be yours'

Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe says whites came to Zimbabwe and wanted to make it their own, ignoring the fact that "what is not yours will never be yours".

The 93-year-old president was speaking at a state funeral yesterday at which he hailed the resistance fight by the likes of former vice president Joseph Msika against white minority rule.

Mugabe launched a sometimes violent land reform programme to seize farms from white landowners in 2000.

Dlodlo says SABC has a history of poor management

Communications Minister Ayanda Dlodlo has said that although she doesn't want politicians to distance themselves from the South African Broadcasting Corporation, they also cannot meddle in editorial decisions.

This was in response to a question about rebuilding the SABC with less government meddling.

Speaking at the South Africa Media Summit which kicked off in Sandton, Johannesburg, yesterday under the theme "securing the future of the fourth estate", Dlodlo admitted that the public broadcaster had had poor management in the past.
