Makhosi Khoza says for the ANC to learn, it must first die and then resurrect

For the ANC to learn, it first has to die and then be resurrected like Jesus, said former MP Dr Makhosi Khoza.

Dr Khoza, was delivering the 11th Annual Helen Joseph lecture at the University of Johannesburg, where she said, unfortunately, the country could not rebuild itself under the ANC rule.

She said she had agreed with former President Kgalema Motlanthe who said in a recent interview with BBC News Africa, that the ANC needed to “hit rock bottom” and lose the national elections “for the penny to drop” in the minds of ANC members.

 

Mbalula asks army to help quell violence in WC

Police Minister Fikile Mbalula has asked the South African National Defence Force to help tackle crime in the Western Cape and Gauteng.

The Western Cape had recently seen gang shootings flare up in various areas around the province.

Mbalula said the recent increase in violence, shootings and gangsterism in the Western Cape and Gauteng was becoming "a matter of huge concern".

 

Breytenbach believed the NPA would tamper with her computer

Former prosecutor, and now DA MP, Glynnis Breytenbach duplicated the hard drive of her work computer because she believed that the National Prosecuting Authority was not above tampering with, and manipulating, its contents after she had handed it in.

Breytenbach said this under cross-examination in the Pretoria North Magistrate’s Court yesterday.

She is charged with having unauthorised access to, and modifying, official laptop computer contents.

This relates to documents deleted in a matter of a mining rights case involving Imperial Crown Trading and Kumba Iron Ore subsidiary Sishen Iron Ore.
