ACDP blames President Zuma for student protests descending into anarchy

Madonsela urges Zuma to co-operate

And, Vytjie Mentor blasts Zuma on Facebook, again

The African Christian Democratic Party yesterday blamed President Jacob Zuma for a “total lack of leadership” which it said had led to university student protests descending into anarchy.

The ACDP said it was appalled at the total lack of leadership displayed by President Zuma and his government.

Reverend Kenneth Meshoe, the leader of the ACDP, said South Africa had a weak government which seemed unable to deal with criminals.

Public Protector Thuli Madonsela yesterday rejected President Jacob Zuma’s demand that she delay her investigation into state capture and urged him to respond to the questions she had put to him.

Madonsela said contrary to Zuma’s claim earlier in a presidency statement, he was informed months ago of the nature of the questions she required him to answer in a probe triggered by Deputy Finance Minister Mcebisi Jonas’s confirmation of reports that the Gupta family had offered him promotion to the head of the portfolio.

Public Protector Madonsela insisted that it was urgent, and referred to the requirement of the Executive Members’ Ethics Act that an investigation into possible violations of it would be concluded within 30 days.

Former ANC MP Vytjie Mentor has set her sights on President Jacob Zuma, challenging him to a public debate on state capture.

This came after Zuma asked to see the evidence gathered by Public Protector Thuli Madonsela in her probe into "state capture" yesterday.

Hours later Mentor took to Facebook, the medium through which she first gained prominence for her announcement that she had been offered a Cabinet position by the Gupta family.

She publicly informed Zuma that she had revealed things about him and his folly relationship with the Gupta's through his son.

Mentor said she was not scared of Zuma.
