EFF's interdict bid struck off the roll
ANC slams Malema for telling residents to 'fight the ANC'
And, DA says no Zuma jet could help save SA R9-billion

The Western Cape High Court has struck off the roll the EFF’s urgent application to have the National Assembly Speaker interdicted after she evicted the party during Parliament's question session on Tuesday.

Judge Ashley Binns-Ward struck off the application on the basis that it was not urgent.

The EFF sought to interdict Speaker Baleka Mbete from unlawfully, physically ejecting any member of the National Assembly.

According to Parliament, the EFF also wanted to have the session postponed until the Speaker had given the court an assurance that there would be no violence against any opposition party MPs for anything they said in the National Assembly.

The ANC has accused EFF leader Julius Malema of inciting violence by telling the public to fight the ruling party.
ANC national spokesperson Zizi Kodwa said in a statement that Malema's call for communities involved in protests to burn the offices of the ANC rather than public property, showed that Malema lacked the necessary maturity, wisdom and temperament to lead anything.

He said Malema was leading a toxic campaign of destruction, hate, and incitement of public violence.

President Jacob Zuma did not need a new jet, the DA said in a new paper that aimed to save South Africa over R9-billion.

The DA will submit a proposed Budget Amendment to the Standing Committee on Appropriations on Tuesday that aimed to save the country R9.52-billion.

Beyond the slashing of the jet, the DA proposed 399 amendments to the budget, including limiting SA’s investment into the Brics Bank, reducing expenditure on economic classifications and discretionary savings.
