Zuma says he can't wait to respond to his critics without restrictions

President Jacob Zuma did not spare his critics during the Nelson Mandela Memorial Lecture in Empangeni last night.

Zuma first took a jibe at former presidents Thabo Mbeki and Kgalema Motlanthe and former deputy president Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka for "sharing a platform with FW de Klerk".

The national foundations of the three former presidents and Mlambo-Ngcuka were part of the recent national dialogues initiative in Braamfontein.

The foundations had joined other foundations to discuss the “deep and pervasive national general crisis” facing the country.

ANC to take action against ‘arrogant’ Khoza

The ANC in KwaZulu-Natal today said it was of the firm view that Member of Parliament Makhosi Khoza “has now crossed the line and must immediately face the consequences of her actions”.

Speaking at an event hosted by the Ahmed Kathrada Foundation and Save South Africa on Nelson Mandela Day, Khoza reiterated her call for President Jacob Zuma to step down. The outspoken MP, who has received death threats, said she found it intolerable being led by a man accused of harassing women.

In a statement issued by provincial party spokesperson Mdumiseni Ntuli the ANC said: “Makhosi was a member of the ANC and a deployed MP who was not immune from the political discipline of the ANC.

And, SABC's Aguma in urgent Labour Court bid to challenge disciplinary hearing

Suspended South African Broadcasting Corporation acting CEO James Aguma is to launch an urgent Labour Court application challenging the lawfulness of his disciplinary hearing.

Aguma faces charges of breaching his contract and frustrating his employer during the disciplinary hearings of axed COO Hlaudi Motsoeneng.

During Aguma's hearing yesterday, his lawyer Osborne Molatudi told chair Professor Taki Madima that they would approach the Labour Court.
