Nkwinti off to see Lesotho Highlands Water Project progress

Water and Sanitation Minister Gugile Nkwinti will today undertake a two-day Ministerial visit to Lesotho to see the developments around the Lesotho Highlands Water Project.

Minister Nkwinti will also have discussions with his counterpart from the government of Lesotho, Minister of Water, Samonyane Ntsekele.

A statement issued by the Department of Water and Sanitation said the discussions will not just revolve on issues surrounding the Project, but will include other matters of dual interests to the Ministers and their respective governments.

 

Nigeria's President Buhari says will soon sign up to African free-trade agreement

Nigeria's President Muhammadu Buhari said yesterday the country will sign up soon to a $3-trillion African free-trade agreement.      

Nigeria is one of Africa's two largest economies, the other being South Africa.

Buhari's government had refused to join a continental free-trade zone established in March, on the grounds that it wishes to defend its own businesses and industry.

The administration later said it wanted more time to consult business leaders.

 

Duduzane Zuma culpable homicide case postponed

Days after appearing in shackles in the Johannesburg Commercial Crime Court, Duduzane Zuma appeared in a different court on two charges of culpable homicide.

The Randburg Magistrate's Court today postponed hearings until August 31.

Zuma appeared on culpable homicide charges following the deaths of two people after he crashed his Porsche into a taxi in 2014.

Zuma has denied any wrongdoing in both the corruption case he appeared in court for on Monday and the culpable homicide case.
