Zuma calls for party members to stop fighting

Malema says EFF has humbled the ANC

And, Maimane says Zuma's speech was the 'last gasp' of the ANC

The ANC has called on party members to stop fighting one another and instead focus on priorities such as jobs and fighting crime and corruption.

Addressing a packed Orlando stadium yesterday, President Jacob Zuma said the party had heard people's cries that the ANC was too busy fighting each other and not paying sufficient attention to their needs.

He was delivering the January 8 statement by the National Executive Committee to give party supporters the plan of action for the year.

The EFF leader Julius Malema yesterday said he could not believe that the ANC would one day celebrate its 105th year anniversary at a small venue like Orlando Stadium in Soweto.

Malema told more than 1 500 supporters that the EFF had humbled the ANC after visiting detained student activist Bonginkosi Khanyile at the Westville Correctional Services Centre in Durban.

President Jacob Zuma’s speech at the ANC's 105th anniversary celebration in Soweto yesterday inspired the DA to predict the ruling party's doom says DA leader Mmusi Maimane.

Maimane suggested that a "humble and introspective reflection" would have been more welcome – along with a "meaningful commitment to effect real and substantive internal change".
