Trollip says Holomisa has no case against the DA

Nelson Mandela Bay mayor, Athol Trollip says that United Democratic Movement leader, Bantu Holomisa, has no legal case against the DA in the issue of ousted former deputy mayor, Mongameli Bobani.

Trollip said Bobani was removed 24 because he did not act like a coalition partner and constantly voted against decisions made by the coalition along with EFF and ANC members.

Trollip added that all the parties participated in the vote of no confidence against Bobani.

He was responding to a question from a journalist on UDM leader Bantu Holomisa’s intention to initiate legal action against the DA for removing Bobani as deputy mayor after a vote of no confidence at a council meeting.

 

ANC Ekurhuleni endorses Dlamini-Zuma for president

The ANC in Ekurhuleni will support Dr Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma to replace Jacob Zuma as ANC president, it said yesterday.

Regional executive committee chair Robert Mashego said this was due to her "unwavering commitment" to radical economic transformation.

However, the region admitted that it was yet to consult the branches that will nominate candidates ahead of the December elective conference.

 

Solidarity march for Grace Mugabe today after SA assault scandal

Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe's ruling Zanu-PF party has called for a march and rally in Harare today to show solidarity with under-fire First Lady Grace Mugabe who received condemnation after her South African "wrath".

Grace allegedly assaulted 20-year-old South African model Gabriella Engels with an extension cord two weeks ago and severely injured her after she found her with one of her two sons, Bellarmine Chatunga, at a hotel in Sandton.

Meanwhile, Zimbabwe's main opposition Movement for Democratic Change party led by Morgan Tsvangirai and other civic groups criticised the planned procession and rally.
