Phahlane's legal troubles, Claassen report in spotlight in Parliament
Zim protest pastor filmed in handcuffs at police station
And, Sassa delay politically motivated says EFF

Acting National Police Commissioner Lieutenant General Khomotso Phahlane's legal woes will be in the spotlight at a meeting in Parliament today.

Police Minister Nathi Nhleko has been summoned to address Parliament's police committee on the latest controversial reports around Phahlane.

The commissioner has been in the spotlight following an investigation by the Independent Police Investigative Directorate into his lifestyle.

IPID is investigating Phahlane over a property which allegedly cost R8-million. His car collection has also been added to the scope of the investigation.

Zimbabwe's protest pastor Evan Mawarire has been filmed in handcuffs at Harare's main police station shortly after his arrest on his return from six months in exile.

In the second of three short videos posted yesterday evening on the Facebook page of his ThisFlag movement, the 39-year-old father-of-three says: "Unfortunately I've been arrested."

Lawyer Harrison Nkomo has told the private Zimbabwe Independent newspaper that Mawarire is being charged with trying to overthrow a constitutionally elected government.

The Economic Freedom Fighters said on Wednesday the announcement by the South African Social Security Agency that it is unable to take over social grant payments from April 1 is politically motivated.

The Constitutional Court instructed the Department of Social Development in 2014 to insource the distribution of all grants by April 1. Cash Paymaster Services and Net1 were awarded the tender to distribute social grants in 2012.

The EFF called on Social Development Minister Bathabile Dlamini to step down.
