DA NW: Joe McGluwa says former ANC mayors on DA candidate list

The Democratic Alliance in the North West is happy to announce that for the first time ever it will be contesting all the wards and municipalities within the province for the upcoming local government elections.

The province’s dysfunctional and deteriorating status can no longer be tolerated.

That is why we have officially signed off and submitted all 737 candidates who will be contesting the 407 wards in the province, 18 local and four district municipalities.

The DA received an overwhelming amount of applications and we are happy with the quality of candidates that were nominated, after successfully completing a rigorous selection process.

Three former ANC Mayors have successfully joined the DA and now appear on our list.  They are the former Mayor of Moretele Steven Kutumela. The former Mayor of Taung, Nicholas Khonkhobi and the former Mayor of Madibeng, Abram Ratlou. We welcome them and believe that their vast political experience will add value to the party.

Their decision to join the DA further confirms that the ANC is no longer the party that will move us forward and that we are the only party that can bring change and move this province forward.

We are happy that our candidates are a true reflection of our communities, representing all races, genders, religions and sexualities.

We are confident that we will increase our support across all wards and municipalities in the province.

Our offer is simple; where we govern we will build on the progress we have already made and where we do not govern we want to bring change to our communities by cutting corruption, creating employment and delivering better services.
