Democratic Alliance Mayors, of DA-governed Municipalities, take note of Helen Zille’s decision to not stand for re-election as Federal Leader at the upcoming DA Federal Congress in May.

We pay tribute to a great visionary, who has led the DA with distinction over the past eight years. Her leadership has grown our party significantly, and has grown our footprint of governance. As a caucus of DA Mayors our number is today what it is, through Helen’s distinguished leadership, which we celebrated last week at a DA Mayor’s gathering in Franschhoek.

Helen’s energy, drive and commitment to liberty and prosperity for all South Africans, has been a source of great inspiration to all who put South Africa first.

As DA Mayors, we would like to thank her for the immense contribution she has made to the growth of the DA over the past decade.

We pay tribute to Helen Zille as a great South African who has worked tirelessly to realise the dream of an open, opportunity society for all in South Africa.
