DA Leader Maimane to launch national petition to oppose VAT increase

23rd February 2018

Tomorrow, Saturday 24 February 2018, Democratic Alliance (DA) Leader, Mmusi Maimane, will be in Soshanguve, Tshwane to launch a national petition opposing the VAT increase in Parliament.

The increase of VAT, along with a huge increase in fuel levies, will cause an increase in food and transport costs for all South Africans. The ANC cannot make the poor pay for their looting of public money, and we will fight this increase in VAT on behalf of the poor and the unemployed.

Maimane will be joined by DA Gauteng Provincial Leader, John Moodey and Mayor of Tshwane, Solly Msimanga.

The media is invited as follows:

Date: Saturday, 24 February 2018

Time: 13:00

Venue: Soshanguve Crossing Mall, Ruth First Road & Aubrey Matlala Street, Pretoria
