DA Leader Maimane and Zambia’s UPND Leader Hichilema to address media

Tomorrow, Thursday 31 August 2017, DA leader, Mmusi Maimane MP, and Leader of Zambia’s opposition party, the United Party for National Development (UPND), Hakainde Hichilema, will address the media.

Zambia's democracy faces profound threat under the leadership of President Edgar Lungu. The country is still under a state of emergency, characterised by “increased security measures” and the suppression of free speech and press freedom. Opposition party members have been arrested en masse, and Parliament is not functioning.

Maimane and Hichilema will be joined by DA Shadow Minister of International Relations and Co-operation Stevens Mokgalapa MP.
