The Democratic Alliance has received with shock, the news that ANC Member of Parliament and Environmental Affairs Portfolio Committee Chairperson, Jackson Mthembu, was shot and wounded last night at an ATM in Witbank.
     

     
This heartless act and all acts of crime must be condemned. We call upon the South African Police Service to act in apprehending the perpetrators of this violent and mindless crime.
     

     
The DA wishes Mr Mthembu a speedy recovery, and conveys our support to the ANC, and the friends and family of Mr Mthembu during this difficult time.
