Tomorrow, 18 November 2021, the DA KZN Leader, Francois Rodgers MPL, together with uMngeni Mayor-elect, Christopher Pappas, will head to the Pietermaritzburg High Court following the failure of the acting uMngeni Municipal Manager, Sandile Buthelezi, to call a lawful council meeting.

The failure to elect the office bearers and the Executive Committee of the Municipality means that there is currently no official political leadership, which is against the will of the voters in the municipality. The DA will do everything in its power to make sure that the uMngeni Mayor, Deputy Mayor and the Speaker are elected so that we can start delivering the much needed services to the people.
