The Democratic Alliance (DA) has retained Ward 10 in Lekwa Local Municipality with an overwhelming majority of 84.49%.

The DA’s 11% growth in Ward 10 demonstrates that voters believe in our promise of change and are willing to work with us towards building a society where government is accountable to the people.

Lekwa Municipality is suffering under the ANC, where poor service delivery and the constant threat of having its bulk electricity supply cut off are constant features. The ANC has ensured that sewage flows unabated in the streets of Sakhile and Rooikopen, posing a daily health risk for residents of the area. By voting DA, the residents have stated that they have had enough of the ANC’s uncaring attitude towards the people.

Thank you to the residents of Ward 10 who came out in their numbers to vote for the only party that has a proven track record of clean governance, job creation and an unwavering commitment to deliver lasting change.

The outcome of this by-election reaffirms that citizens are tired of being mistreated and are ready for change. Only a DA government can stop corruption and deliver better services to residents.
