DA: DA activists embody the spirit of Madiba on Mandela Day

Today the Democratic Alliance (DA) in the Eastern Cape celebrated the life of Nelson Mandela by following his example and giving back to the poor and destitute across the province.

DA leaders and activists in the Eastern Cape dedicated more than 67 minutes of their time giving back to society. In doing so we remember Nelson Mandela’s 67 years of dedicated service.

I accompanied DA activists to Timothy Valley in Nelson Mandela Bay to visit a previously destitute lady who also suffers from cancer. See photo attached here.

She lived in a dog shelter until she was provided with a temporary structure and toilet by the DA-led Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality.

Our activists provided her with furniture and groceries to provide her with better quality of life. She will now also be put on the municipal housing list.

We also provided the poor and hungry of Timothy Valley with soup. See photo attached here.

Tata Mandela taught us that those who have, should take care of those who have not.

Our activists today showed the spirit of Tata Madiba and Ubuntu.

The fighting spirit and the sacrifices made by Nelson Mandela for the people of South Africa should at all times inspire us as we work towards change.
