COSATU wish to strongly register its utter disgust with the brutal attack on workers’ rights in Swaziland. The royal family regime continues to wage a relentless attack on the rights and dignity of workers.

The banning of TUCOSWA and the continued attack on the rights of workers to associate, organise and speak out reflects a regime in crisis and desperately frustrated.
We call on the international trade union movement to intensify pressure on the tinkhundla regime and mobilise for the international rejection and isolation of the oppressive regime.

We also remain prepared to support and intensify our own solidarity in support of TUCOSWA and the working class movement of Swaziland.

We fully agree with TUCOSWA that the release of Political prisoners, particularly PUDEMO President Mario Masuku whose health and medical condition is dire and requires our full and urgent focus.
