COSATU LP: Cosatu Limpopo supports Popcru provincial march

The Congress of South African Trade Unions in Limpopo stands with POPCRU and supports the union on its provincial march to be held on the 30th June 2016 in Polokwane.

The federation in the province unconditionally supports all the demands of POPCRU which amongst others are as follows:

1. DEMANDS IN CORRECTIONAL SERVICES

a) Implementation of OSD 2nd phase;
b) Establishment of a shift system;
c) Non-existence of a promotion policy;
d) Filling of all vacant posts at lower level;
e) Payment of outstanding overtime since 2009;
f) Special dispensation for all employees with 08+ years’ service in rank;
g) Full implementation of all concluded agreements;

2. DEMANDS IN SOUTH AFRICAN POLICE SERVICE

a) Finalization of salary upgrades and in cooperation of PSA appointed members;
b)  Abolishment of unconstitutional structures e.g. Clusters and Regions;
c)  Failure by management to root out racists elements;
d) Unilateral implementation of decisions;
e) Abolishment of trial units;
f) Maximum safety of members [Police killing];

3. DEMANDS IN TRAFFIC

a)  Special dispensation for all employees with 08+ years’ service in rank;
b)  Nationalization;
c)  Abolishment of Traffic Intervention Elite Units;
d)  Un-procedural implementation of disciplinary matters;

The march will start at 10h00 at the SABC Park and proceed to the SAPS Provincial Head Offices in Polokwane.

We therefore urge all our affiliates and the alliance to support and join the march in solidarity with our members in the correctional services, SAPS and Traffic services.
